Review Daft Punk - Random Access Memories

Daft Punk has released their new album last weeks Friday (17th May 2013). Perfect timing and a perfect start for the weekend. I was listening to it since Friday nonstop as I was totally impressed by all the effort, which was put into the marketing before releasing this album. I haven't seen that anywhere since Spotify and Youtube is out there. Some musicians blame streaming media, as they do not profit too much from it, but in most cases they simply do not know how to use it so that people actually get out to buy the album or purchase concert tix. However this is just an ancient attitude and we should get used that revenue in the music business has changed and comes through secondary or third digital sources. I love using spotify on the go but also love to hang out in record shops to buy vinyls! The brand management behind those artists is the key to succeed in the music business todays fast paced world. Daft Punk gives an example on how to promote an album properly using all digital media channels to tease the taregt audience until the full album was released. There were fake versions out on Youtube to get the catchy tune of "Get Lucky", but the album version has actually not been released until last Friday. Music-wise it is my favorite album of 2013 until now! I love how Chilly Gonzales (one of my most favorite piano talents at this time) was involved in this genius piece of art and how Panda Bear is just impressively "Doin' it right". I love the mix of the late 70s vibes mixed with the distinctive styles of the robots. Some say it does not sound like Daft Punks previous albums and that they gotta get used to it.
